# How Does Blue Bottle Give Back?

## Our Community Day events raise funds for the places we call home.

Along with deliciousness and sustainability, hospitality is one of the three values that has guided Blue Bottle since we started roasting [more than fifteen years ago](/content/our-story/index.html). Hospitality is about community, extending beyond the doors of our [cafes and roasteries](/content/cafes/index.html) and into the neighborhoods in which we serve our coffees.

This past year, we started using our Community Day—a kickoff event we host for every new cafe—as a chance to fundraise for local nonprofit and charitable organizations. It’s our way of giving back to those who give so much.
